Habitat & Conservation

Restoration Efforts

At Tapir Valley, we are working hard to restore the habitat next to Volcan Tenorio, and those restoration efforts are paying off with an excellent variety of species of frogs that you can see during our night tours.

Diverse Biomes

Because we have such a diversity of biomes here at the reserve, we see species that depend on wetlands, riparian zones, grasslands, and rainforests. This variety of habitats supports different frog species with specific ecological requirements.

Conservation Importance

Amphibians are excellent indicators of ecosystem health. The presence of diverse frog and toad populations at Tapir Valley demonstrates the success of our habitat restoration efforts and the overall health of the ecosystem.
